Why do we watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?
We may say that we enjoy witnessing the glamorous lives of a group of wealthy women, but let's be honest with ourselves - the real reason we tune in is to see these glamorous women get into altercations and say hateful things about one another.
Let's take a look back at some of the series' most memorable conflicts:
1. Kim vs. Kyle
Back in season one, you could be forgiven for forgetting that these two are sisters. They certainly didn't act like it: their conversations seemed awkward and forced, and the pair were constantly at each other's throats.
Their quarrel came to a head on the first season's last episode. Kim got into an argument with Taylor and Lisa, and felt slighted by her sister when Kyle didn't defend her. The sisters subsequently had a screaming match in the back of a limousine. Kim accused Kyle of stealing a house that was paid for with Kim's earnings as a child star, but it was Kyle's outing of her sister's alcoholism that proved to be the most shocking moment. This revelation caused friction between the two in subsequent seasons, though their relationship has since mended due to Kim's sobriety.
Best put-down: Kyle: “You are a liar and sick and an alcoholic!"
2. Lisa vs. Adrienne
Lisa tends to stay above the fray and doesn't get involved in disagreements; preferring to sit on the sidelines and occasionally interject with a humorous dig or sexualised pun. She was dragged into the drama, however, when Adrienne - seemingly out of nowhere - attacked Mrs Vanderpump at the season two reunion. Adrienne accused Lisa of selling negative stories to the press: a charge that Lisa vehemently denied, while declaring that she had lost respect for former friend Adrienne.
Fans did not react well to Adrienne's attempt to overthrow Queen V, and subsequently turned on her. Season three opened with Adrienne's attempts to get back into Lisa's good graces, though the two never fully rebuilt their lost friendship.
Best put-down: Lisa: “I feel that she's nervous. I don't mean to make her nervous ... that much.
3. Adrienne vs. Brandi
Alliances shift so often on Housewives. One minute two women appear to be best friends, and the next they are hurling insults and threatening to sue one another. This was the case with Adrienne and Brandi. Their once close relationship quickly deteriorated when Brandi revealed a secret about Adrienne's family to the other women. Adrienne immediately flew into a rage when she found out and began attacking Brandi at every opportunity, even threatening a lawsuit against her. Brandi fought back using her only weapon - her penchant for certain four letter words.
The argument was left unresolved when Adrienne refused to attend the season three reunion, though recent rumours suggest that the two have reconciled.
Best put-down: Brandi: “Shame on me? SHAME. ON. YOU."
4. Kyle vs. Camille
The first season of the show seemed to be entirely centred around the sometimes baffling, always entertaining run-ins involving Camille and Kyle. The two appeared to get along well at first, but their friendship became short-lived when Mrs Grammar accused Kyle of dismissing Camille as irrelevant without her then-husband, actor Kelsey Grammer. Kyle denied the accusation, arguing that Camille made the whole thing up.
The two then entered a cycle arguments and apologies throughout the first season, only to continue arguing about the same remark. The most irritating part of the whole thing is that the conversation in question happened off-camera, so we will never know which one of them was telling the truth.
Best put-down: Kyle: “You're such a ******* liar, Camille!”
